Official wedding ceremony in the registry offices of Georgia

Are you dreaming of a beautiful and memorable wedding? Georgia is the perfect place for your ceremony. The country offers a blend of ancient traditions, picturesque landscapes, and modern facilities for official marriage registration and elegant wedding ceremonies. You can choose from one of the four registry offices in Tbilisi: the Wedding Hall in the House of Justice, the registry office on Uznadze Street, the Konka Wedding House, or a private ceremony hall in Mtatsminda Park. Each venue has its unique atmosphere and features.

Why choose Georgia?

Georgia is famous for its hospitality, exquisite cuisine, and rich cultural heritage. The marriage registration process here is straightforward and does not involve complex bureaucratic procedures. Additionally, the stunning views, warm climate, and unique locations will make your wedding truly unforgettable. Choose Georgia for your special day, and you will have a legally registered marriage and create vivid memories that will last a lifetime!

How does the ceremony take place?

The ceremony begins with the traditional Mendelssohn march, a classical musical accompaniment that sets a festive atmosphere from the very start. The state registrar will welcome you and deliver a ceremonial speech in Georgian, which our translator will readily interpret for you. The crucial moment follows when the registrar asks, "Do you agree to become husband and wife?" Your verbal consent and the signing of the official form confirm your mutual and free choice to enter into marriage.

Exciting traditions

After signing the documents, you may exchange rings and recite wedding vows. While these elements are optional, they can add a touch of romance to your day. The official part concludes with the presentation of the marriage certificate, followed by your first dance as a newly married couple — a moment that will become one of your most cherished memories. The registry office will also prepare a small but thoughtful gift for you — a bottle of Georgian wine or champagne — so you can celebrate this wonderful occasion.

Attention to detail

Although the ceremony lasts only 20-30 minutes, every moment is significant. To help preserve the memories of this special day, we recommend hiring a professional photographer or videographer to capture the best moments of your wedding. Additionally, our florists can create a beautiful wedding bouquet to highlight the bride's elegance and complement her overall look.

Individual approach

Each element of the ceremony can be customized to fit your preferences. You can choose to forgo the Mendelssohn march, skip the exchange of rings or vows, and even opt out of the first dance. This is your wedding, and everything should reflect your desires. Georgian registry offices are flexible in accommodating your requests, so we will consider all your wishes during the planning process.

Moreover, there is no strict dress code. You are free to wear whatever style makes you comfortable. Whether you prefer a classic wedding dress or casual attire like T-shirts and jeans, the focus is on making this day a true reflection of your individuality.

Preparing for a wedding in Georgia

To ensure everything goes smoothly, it is advisable to arrive in Georgia a few days before the wedding. This will allow you to prepare for the ceremony at a leisurely pace, apply for registration, and perhaps choose stylish accessories or a romantic dinner location afterward. Each registry office has specific working and non-working days, so it is important to check the availability of your chosen location on your desired date ahead of time.
